The 1960s Playboy centerfolds featured many iconic and influential models, such as Marilyn Monroe (who was featured posthumously in the December 1963 issue), Brigitte Bardot, and Raquel Welch. Other notable 1960s Playmates include Connie Kreski (Playmate of the Year 1969), Donna Michelle (Playmate of the Year 1964), and, in a departure from the magazine's usual all-white roster, China Lee (Playmate of the Month August 1964), who was the first Asian-American woman to be featured in Playboy. The 1960s also saw the introduction of more liberal and provocative content, including the first issue to feature male nudity (Playgirl, August 1965) and the expansion of Playboy's coverage of social issues and politics.
